I can't say enough amazing things about Saga . This is currently my favorite monthly read alongside CHEW . If I could only recommend 2 comic book titles for you to follow monthly, it would these 2. SHAZAM meets Captain Barbell in Marvel Family Tribute Week over at The Line It Is Drawn ! Instead of the cliche misunderstanding and ensuing battle, I prefer to think this is how a Filipino superhero would meet a non-Filipino superhero for the first time... by feeding him/her. Because Filipinos are super-friendly like that. Try it. Befriend one today and ask what Billy's eating. Peace.

Here's my illo of Black Bat & Spoiler looking for a new home in the DC Animated Universe, since... y'know... they're not welcome in the New 52. Yeah... this piece comes off as a bit jaded. This was done in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Batman: The Animated Series over at The Line It Is Drawn . The DCAU rules my universe. I used the Spoiler redesign by Dean Trippe because I love it to this day. It's what drew me to Project: Rooftop . Check out his thoughtful redesign HERE . I made some adjustments to the designs of the other characters entertaining how their look woulda evolved if the Timmverse kept going. Fun! Peace.

Here's my piece for the 100th week of The Line It Is Drawn over at Comics Should Be Good! The challenge was to create a 100th issue cover for a favorite mash-up, team-up, or reimagined character from our first 99 installments. So I chose to pay tribute to fellow Liner Marco D'Alfonso 's hot The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly  piece, which you can find HERE . I just can't say no to the combo of ninjas and Marco. It was also a great opportunity to pay homage to one of my favorite Western flicks. I figured this would be the progression of such a comic book series by the time it reached issue 100.  Hope y'all digs! Peace.

Still feel bummed about the loss of many of our favorite DCU characters pre- Flashpoint ? I know I still do. Thankfully, one of my deviantART buds, Juan Pablo Osorio , is spearheading a fancomic project that'll give us the closing chapter of the previous DCU with a focus on the characters that have been wiped away in the New52. It'll be told in the epilogue style of Alan Moore's classic Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? This is my redesign for Troy after she takes up the role of Wonder Woman in the story. I'm still super-excited over the Young Justice: Invasion premiere! I'm very pleased with all the character designs. I feel Wonder Girl's costume is a bit too plain, though, so I did my own thing. I kept it casual and sporty while giving it more of a modern feel. Hope y'all can dig it! Peace.

It's NickToons Week over at The Line It Is Drawn ! So I had to get down with an Avatar: The Last Airbender -related suggestion that mashes up the cast of the series with Bender from Futurama , another series I love. This time, it was from my friend and one of our top suggestion-givers, Mike Shirley ! Avatar: TLA is one of the greatest animated series OF ALL TIME. I was hooked instantly the moment I watched the first episode. I HIGHLY recommend it to y'all and your kids. It has a Star Wars -esque quality about the storytelling set against a fictional, highly Asian-inspired world. However, AVOID the live-action movie AT ALL COSTS. If you already watched that abomination, please don't let it detract you from experiencing the phenomenon that is the animated series. If you're like me and are already addicted to the cartoon and couldn't get enough after the series finale, there's great news! Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru pick up the story from where the show...
