Hello from the future-present! This was originally intended to be a xeet/tweet with a very specific target audience, but it quickly erupted into something I couldn't contain in such a limited number of characters. Cutting right to the chase.
For what it's worth, here's my nobody strategy:
1.
Since any chance of Biden resigning is realistically off the table for various reasons, help Harris win.
If you’ve been paying close attention, there have been signs she’s open to and even preparing to make a break from Joe’s catastrophic policy. Don’t hinder that.
2.
Build coalitions to foster an environment where it’s safer and expedient for politicians to stand with us. Enlist co-conspirators to the cause. Radicalize and mobilize people with factual information and stories. Disseminate so hard that it’d put the spread of COVID to shame.
3.
Hit pressure points at the congressional level and on Biden directly and immediately. Channel our pain, outrage, and anger there where they belong.
4.
Along the way, engage with Harris’ team in productive ways. Write tactful and thoughtful messages and letters of advocacy. If given the opportunity, meet with them. They’re LISTENING. They’re reading. They’re actually receptive. Hold space for grace and good faith on that.
We know we have the moral high ground. We say what we’re fighting for is popular, but sadly, is it? We saw what the opps did to Cori Bush. Not enough people had her back. The people didn’t do enough to counter her highly funded and coordinated attackers. We failed her. A cautionary tale and lesson moving forward.
Show up for Harris. Let her speak and get her message across to others who could also be allies, supporters, and voters. None of this is in the bag.
Have Harris’ back.
5.
Please do not overlook her identity. Don’t do it. She will face the utmost disrespect yet from whom and what she’s running against. Enough to make our blood boil. Please refrain from piling on top of that from our end. If you’re a fellow Person of Color, you should already know better.
She deserves as much respect as we do. At the very least, she deserves as much respect as she gives us.
6.
Once Harris wins, God willing, celebrate then swiftly hold her to account. Work with her once she holds office and wields the substantial executive power. Hold her to her promise that her term(s) will be people-powered. If all else fails, then pounce like we should still be doing with Biden at this very moment. We should be cooking him to clear this mess for her before she even takes office since this continues to be his error.
Lots of hard work to do.
But for now: Help her win.
